Electric Pallet Jack Lift Certification Training
Electric Pallet Jacks, Walkie Riders, and Walkie Stackers are Class III-type PITs. Although these lifts are included in the General Forklift Class, many operators only use them at their facility and do not need the additional training that comes with the Counterbalance lifts.
This type of lift is typically used for construction, landscaping, roofing, and jobs that require the load to be extended. It is often used similarly to a crane, and loads are "slung."
In addition to the general lift and sling operations, attachments can be added to help with general construction tasks, like a scooping bucket, aerial work platforms, and boom jibs to extend the load even further out.
As part of the training, operators learn to read the load chart and determine a safe capacity for the angle, distance, and attachment type. In addition to the general safety functions, the unique steering capabilities and the standard stability triangle that affects safety are also reviewed.
